Dear Sir

A considerable quantity of the treasure plundered from the wreck of the “Golden Gate” was stolen by one Fowler formerly a Boston pilot.

Part of it reached “New York” in charge of his son late in January last. Other part with Fowler himself early in March.

I have no doubt but that these pirates are now in the neighbourhood of Boston & in possession of their illgotten gains.

Cannot your detectives bust them up

I am sir your obed servt

Francis W. Lodge
